About Us
Ally Jarman - Founder and Head Trainer
Ally Jarman is the Founder and Head Trainer of Paws & Progress. She holds professional accreditations with The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), The Canine Behaviour Training Society (TCBTS), and The Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC).
Before establishing Paws & Progress, Ally worked for several years as a Senior Coach at Dogs Trust, one of the UK's leading animal welfare charities. During her time there, she worked alongside an amazing team, and was honoured with a nomination for Charity Employee of the Year, recognising her dedication to supporting 1000s of dogs and their guardians through tailored training and behavioural support.
Now running her own business since 2023, Ally brings this same wealth of experience to a diverse client base, working with dogs of all breeds, backgrounds, and behavioural needs. She also was thrilled to become an approved 'Pets As Therapy' assessor as of 2025 and loves helping clients achieve these goals.
On top of the above, Ally is Canine First Aid trained, has complete personal and public liability insurance through Protectivity, and was also recently selected as a Finalist for two awarding bodies, resulting in her taking home the 'Prestige' 'Dog Trainer of the Year' Title for 2025 - an acknowledgment of her professionalism, knowledge, and compassionate approach.
At the core of Paws & Progress is a commitment to helping dogs and their humans build stronger relationships through calm, kind, and effective training.

"Ally is amazing at what she does - she has a natural way with dogs, and is kind and very knowledgeable. My puppy absolutely loved his puppy training course. The value of this course is also fantastic for the price, and Ally goes above and beyond to help at no extra cost".

"We are seeing Stella in general (and on walks especially) a much calmer, more confident and happier pup these days, and it is with huge thanks to Ally and all the work she has done with her.
She enjoyed a spectacular day on the beach on Saturday with a big gathering of friends, met lots of different dogs and was so happy all day. It’s a joy to see and she’s having a better life as we’re more confident at taking her into new situations now".

I saw a difference with my anxious dog immediately! I'm so grateful for her, and her customer service is excellent! Looking forward to working through our program together".
